This week's hike: going off-trail in Lunada Bay. The little guy did a great job traversing some pretty vertical areas, and we were rewarded with awesome tide pools full of baby crabs.

This week we're dropping off our 18-year-old at college, so there have been a lot of goodbyes. But the toughest was with Jack's 16-year-old brother, D. Here's what they said, through tears, as they hugged each other. D: I don't know how to be without you. J: You're better than me. You'll be great.

Today my 9-year-old wanted to play Twilight Princess on our Wii U, which hasn't worked in years. I looked up instructions online, warned him that we maybe had a 10% chance of success, and opened the controller. But it worked! Honestly shocked that we fixed it.

It's been a very busy professional month with the digital launch of the Cosmere RPG, but here's the coolest *personal* thing I've done this summer: a community theater production of Mary Poppins with my 9-year-old son. It was such a fun experience to play George and Michael Banks onstage together!

Today, the Cosmere RPG had the digital launch for the Stormlight Campaign Setting. It was a long day of fulfillment for our 60,000 backers...but we did it. My favorite thing is being able to celebrate all of these awesome people. And feeling gratitude for seeing my name in here, too!

When my son was little and he struggled with sports I told him "sorry, O'Neals are smart but we're not athletic." Fast-forward to tonight: he was one of just 6 kids to receive his school's Scholar-Athlete Award for Varsity athletes with perfect 4.0 grades. Props to him for proving me (half) wrong!
