My 2025 "Game of the Year" award goes to Minecraft! I first started playing Minecraft 14 years ago. Then I played a bunch a decade ago. After a long break I recently got back into it and have loved exploring the massive amounts of new features. Minecraft keeps growing and I love playing it!

For a new player to a game series like Sim City do you think it is better to start at a recent release or the very beginning? On one hand the newest games have thorough tutorials and help systems. On the other hand the original game has a smallish subset of the mechanics so it is easier to learn.

Platypus Reclayed is fun and it has an amazing sound track. They used practical effects! This modern remaster of the 2002 version is great for two player co-op! The visuals are fantastic. For me this game is 💯

I'm old enough to remember when YouTube used to let you buffer an entire video if you wanted to.

I used to delete finished things off my to do lists. It was not very satisfying and I often felt like I wasn't making progress. Once I started moving things to a completed section it made me realize how much progress I was making and it felt a lot better to review my to do lists.

Sometimes I can describe a thing and want to see a thing but also not want to spend 3 months of my free time learning how to make the thing exist. For something like that it brings me joy to use generative imaging. If the models are trained on ethically sourced material what's the harm?

My favorite feature so far in Godot 4.5 is the editor window retaining its size and position. Now I'm wondering if my Godot app should be doing that! #godot

Godot 4.5 fixed whatever memory issue kept crashing the web version of my app on iOS. I think it was related to using outlines on buttons. It was very exciting to play through a few game modes in full screen without having to install anything! #godot #gamedev

I was really hoping for Mario Galaxy 3. It has been 15 years since 2 came out. Having paid DLC for the new Donkey Kong game that just came out (for $70 US) seems not cool to me.
