Anyone else getting an above-average amount of scam emails posing as your web services (web hosts, email services, domain providers, etc.)? Today's Email: "This is [domain provider] We hope this message finds you well." Me: "Wait a minute, none of my service providers wish me well. WHO IS THIS!?"

A big red flag (in any government or industry) is when project leaders only hire young staffers. Young people don't have the experience to recognize normal practices from exploitation. If a staff doesn't have a mix of young and old, no one can warn the inexperienced employees when things seem askew.

Today, I drove home in front of a woman with a large plastic Christmas tree and bells hanging from her rearview mirror. Usually, I'm not a fan of Christmas decorations before Halloween is over, but the audacity of putting so many big ornaments on a car's mirror has won me over.

Ajax and Penelope got into a huge fight this morning, both biting each other and rolling on the floor. I know it's wrong, but given their age and some emergency vet appointments, I'm glad they're both still healthy enough to attack each other.

When I was a kid and first I learned about the Salem Witch Trials, I thought, "People honestly believed in secret witches? And believed enough to kill over? Were people just dumber back then?" Now, I look at the world around me and say, "Oh, yeah, I get it. That's human behavior, alright."
