So, Scott Adams is gone. Through cautionary example, he showed me a valuable lesson: If you can't be grateful, don't be ungrateful or it will weigh on you like a stone. Guy had a 30 yr newspaper run, got rich and famous, had a 2 season TV show, yet spent his life complaining that he deserved more.

You know how there are a bunch of movies about women who can't make relationships work, so they go out and find themselves instead? If we started making those kinds of movies about men, would that help the male loneliness epidemic?

So, it's JRR Tolkien's birthday. Lately, I've been thinking about how parts of my stories were inspired by his writings. Even many of the non-Tolkien stories that inspired me were probably inspired by him. I owe him quite a debt. But GOOD LORD, that man would have HATED Draconis Wicked.

When I was a teenager, my cousin's neighbor (also a teenage girl) asked me "are you wearing those shoes as a joke?" I think she had some kind of social awareness issues and didn't think she was insulting me, which made the whole situation more interesting.
