I accidentally did old-school stress testing on my game, and by that I mean I fell asleep with Unity in play mode all night. The game still worked afterwards! That's a good sign 😄

Attended Leeds Games Toast today, a monthly meetup for a bunch of people all over the games industry. Learned a lot of great stuff and met a lot of great people, definitely going to make it a regular thing to show up 😄

The worst part about making a new project in unity is having to remember how raycasts work again. This was something only the me from 4 months ago should've had to deal with.

GameDev challenge: Find a way to hide a family recipe into the game.

Had my first game developer's conference today. Got an opportunity to talk with a lot of people from all over the industry, and the advice I received was invaluable. Feeling very confident about the direction I want to take my career now, and especially *how* I intend to accomplish that.

Someone suggested to me that I could make a mobile version of my game, and after dwelling on it I'm realising there's a chance that's possible. Gonna look into it today.

Thank you for 50 followers! I've only been here a week but I've been settling in great, you've all been too kind ☺️ To celebrate, here's a little before and after of some of the code I've been refactoring. Progress is coming along well!

I'll begin creating a devlog on the way I created the aesthetic for my game, as well as theories on how to recreate it: my game uses the built-in pipeline, and the effect is far easier to pull off in URP. I don't have an ETA because I simply have so much else on my plate, but it's in the works!

No better feeling in programming than when you just finished all the backend code, and you finally get to start slotting all the really easy frontend stuff into place. Over the last few weeks I made a decision to refactor the battle system for the game, and it's proving to be a huge success!

Since I've now been working on this project on and off for the last 2 years, I figured yesterday that I'd finally run a code counting program on it. No third party content or assets - only the code that I myself have written. Pretty impressive! 👍
