I hope they add an “arcade mode” to Star Fox that strips out the cutscenes for the Challenge Mode etc. They won’t, of course, the cutscenes are the big new thing for this version of the game but I can but dream. I don’t need to see them for the 100th time when I’m going for high scores.

I’ve played about 5 hours of The Adventures of Elliot and I’m surprised more people aren’t talking about it. It essentially “what if Square Enix made a 2D Zelda game”. The protagonist is a bit bland (he wears a hat!) and everyone talks far too much, but I’m really liking it so far.

Personally, I’m not a fan of those accounts that pretend to be cats with posts filled with spelling and grammar errors. If cats could post, their posts would be immaculate just to make it clear they were better than you.

The new Star Fox is great but there’s one little niggle I have with it: The alternative routes are all signposted, both in dialogue and literally right there in the menus. While I understand they want to make it more accessible, finding out just how to get to that other planet was part of the fun.

They might as well just pack up shop now.
