I've been away from home this week, frantically avoiding spoilers for The Boys finale. While I'm sure there are some who did not like that ending, I wanted to go on record and say I adored it, and the show is bowing out on an incredible high.

Heading back to Manchester after four full days in the Manchester of Scotland - lovely, lovely Glasgow. The nicest people. Some incredible things to see. Food way better than Scotland's reputation. Genuinely loved it.

Going to be processing that one for a while. So much to take in. All of it delightful. Totally overjoyed by two hours of camp madness. And to briefly say hi to Forbes, Alan, Siobhan and Patrick was the icing on the cake. Chuffed. Just chuffed. If only I could do it all again! #thehighlife

Despite living in Manchester and the surrounding area all my life, I was today years old when I discovered Makerfield is a "thing". Literally never heard anyone use the term before, even people I know who apparently live there.

The Boys finale next week has a LOT of ground to cover. I didn't quite expect there to be so many players still left on the board at this point in the season. Hoping it works as a satisfying conclusion. Especially now Gen V is cancelled and The Boys: Mexico seemed to have stalled.

The thing about Wes Streeting - and I hate to be this shallow but he refuses to believe I exist, so... - is that he looks EXACTLY like a guy who has said something racist at the Christmas Party but he works *in* the HR Department so nothing will come of it if it's reported.

It's too expensive to live there, increasingly too expensive to travel to, areas once filled with vibrant alternative cultures have been homogenised and there's a huge influx of "front" vape/candy shops. London now is a far colder place than it was 10 years ago. I try and avoid it where I can now.

I've been quiet on socials media for the last three weeks or so. I've been busy, though. Seeing friends. Getting back to nature. Going to gigs. Being creative. Healing.

Genuinely such a lovely guy. I always enjoyed my interactions with him in my Velvet Onion days. Gone far too young... and wrote for so many shows you probably loved. Solid performer too. Still got a huge soft spot for some of the Burge & Way material.

Temporarily breaking my social media hiatus to mark the passing of the wonderful Stephen Burge. A comedy genius, whose work spans some of the biggest hits and funniest shows of the last 25 years.

One of my life rules is this: When we admire an artist... When we don't just like the art they make but realise they are good human beings.... We show up for them over and over again, no matter how uncool or embarrassing we are in the process.

Just me feeling like social media has now completely stopped being social? Doesn't help I feel like I'm making a tit out of myself trying to post things people might actually engage with, and keep myself on people's minds so I don't disappear forever. But tbh that doesn't sound so bad right now.

Yes! This is exactly what is needed: if venues can offer accommodation to artists playing there that night as part of the contract, it will make everything that little bit more affordable. Still won't fix the issue of how little money touring actually brings in, but it's a start.

Can't help but wonder if this is the end of it all, and if so, how crap my final message out to the world will be when infrastructure collapses and society falls. Just wish all the people I love and care for could live happy lives & all in close proximity cos being thousands of miles apart sucks.
