Believe it or not, many governments stand by and watch genocides for research purposes and to explore investment opportunities. While some of the public yells “do something” in outrage, that something ends up being business maneuvers, weapons purchases, testing, and so on.

People talk about international law like it's some divine retribution that's going to magically be handed down by politicians that won't even say the word “genocide.” Who's going to do the punishing? This is not a movie. In real life, war criminals get job offers, and genocide is an advertisement.

Everything about the fascistic white supremacist virulence that's overrunning the US is a return to tradition, not a departure from it. White supremacist despotism is quintessentially US. That's why this country inspired Hitler. A new society won't be gained by clinging to nostalgic lies and myths.
