Really interesting exhibition at the Baltic by Lebanese artist Ali Cherri. How I Am Monument looks at history through a material lens - mud-based sculptures take inspiration from archaeological artefacts & the natural world.

The Tory MP's reaction, referring to the museum as an 'attraction' is also telling. The belief that the value of culture is to encourage tourism is a real indicator of the corrosive power of neoliberalism.

Tidal swimming pools around the coast of Scotland have long been in decline, but recent interest in wild swimming has led communities to see the benefits and value of these historic pools. Thanks to groups in places like Cellardyke and Pittenweem in Fife, many pools have been revitalised.
