I finished assembling the OVP board and it fits in the calculator! The board tests good. Now I need to tap into and intercept all 5 voltage rails. I'll report back tomorrow and hopefully power it up.

I have another video today! It's about old-school video projectors and how amazing they were. Seriously, not only is it almost unbelievable that this even works, but it's doing full HD video with incredibly good image quality. It's also a royal PITA.

I'm working on a mod board for an old (HP 9815a) calculator. It will protect the electronics in case of a power supply failure. The board just arrived and the test fit worked. I've got the pixel pump all ready to go. Lets build a board!

Got a new clock today! It's a digital clock from 1977 made by HP. There's a lot going on inside. Now I've got to figure out where to put it.

sad that the subminiature AC power plug never took off. the design was inherently safe since kids couldn't fit forks or scissors in

The calculator now works! Most of it's problems were due to rust and old rubber parts swelling up. With some oil and tons of patience it is now working! Here's a short video of it approximating pi! It's a Facit CA1-13 from the late 1950's.

if you're ever sad alone silently, consider this: - i hold a copyright on being like that - you are encroaching on my intellectual property - i will send you a cease & desist - i will possibly take you to court so please make yourself legally distinct by talking to someone about it

I got the calculator apart. For the most part it looks to be in good condition. There is a small amount of rust but only time will tell if that is a problem. You can see the pinwheel calculator mechanism from behind and the strange motor assembly. Time to start cleaning it up.

Finally finished some of the Yinglet coasters! It's a bras inlay embedded in walnut. Bonus plastic one on the top right.

I filled in the coasters with an orange epoxy. The results turned out great! Nice and easy to make on the CNC. Bonus points to any one who knows what the third one is.
