Okay I had more time to look it up than I thought: Turns out bans are mainly instance specific, and Bluesky’s design doesn't exactly allow "bans". A ban on one server does not automatically extend to other servers or third-party apps. Geographic labelers can be disabled on servers if you want.

What's up bsky? I noticed it seems that people can be banned here with network-wide suspensions. One of the things that attracted me to here was that you could host your own PDS and there was no "main platform". Is that still true? How is federation policy in 2025?
