Great weekend across Creekside. Volunteer day on Sunday in Twinkle Park & Charlotte Turner Gardens where we were joined by great new volunteers. And lots of casework & some canvassing all day Saturday. Just wish I remembered sun cream on my bald head… feeling sunburn today 🤕

Glad to see this being reported. 2 weeks ago I had it confirmed that Newham had released funds meaning work could start to return Woolwich Foot Tunnel to service. Disappointing it’s taken so long, but am overjoyed it’ll be back in operation by end of year

Find this claim about as convincing as my hairline. We’ve know since 1960s that increasing road capacity only serves to increase the number of vehicle journeys - and, in time, congestion gets worse. I hope I’m shown to be wrong, but I am sceptical as are Greenwich residents

The closure will of course be disappointing to some, but it is the only way to replace the escalators and deliver a reliable and fully accessible station long term - & so I think most people will agree it is a price worth paying. We've been pushing for this for over 3 years, so it is long overdue.

BIG NEWS: TfL have confirmed the timeline for starting works at Cutty Sark DLR. The station will be closed, for up to a year, from 31 May to replace the escilators. While long overdue, this is incredibly welcome news. tfl.gov.uk/info-for/med...

Great to see new road markings on Borthwick St, with more to come. These new markings make things clearer and avoid some of the mix-ups I’ve successfully helped residents appeal penalty notices for. Example of @Royal_Greenwich listening and acting on issues raised.

Noticed these signs by the Deptford Creek pedestrian swing bridge? They give info on the tides and so when the bridges may have to be opened to allow river traffic access to the creek. I sought their instillation after being contacted by residents last year

Greenwich Council could back a call to ban Lime bikes in the borough next week after two frustrated councillors spoke out against the company for not taking action against riders dumping their bikes on pavements.

Update on the foot tunnel. TLDR: we are waiting for arrival of parts but expect repairs to North lift to be completed by the end of January. Spares have been ordered and proactive work will be carried out on south lift too. This should help avoid any lengthy outages again 1/

Whoops! Greenwich Council needs time to fix the signs in its low-traffic neighbourhood - so it has extended its grace period for driving in the rush-hour LTN after all. Drivers will now not face penalty charges of up to £130 until the new year.

Sensible approach with the Council removing some confusing signage and reviewing others as part of the east & west Greenwich traffic management scheme. Grace period extended to 2 Jan. And as cllrs we’ve been assured other parts of the scheme - like blue badge approach - can be reviewed or amended
