I was going to save posting any more WIPs until I'd finished the eyes... but I couldn't resist. I'm super happy with how things are turning out now that I've got the materials set up in Blender (the eyes are just basic placeholders here, haven't settled on how to handle them)

EVERY CURRENT ART OF THIS ANIMAL IS WRONG!!!!!!! for this to have the normal tail its usually depicted with, it would need a string of like 150 caudal vertebrae, instead of the expected 30-40 it had big manual claws and a big bone support for a MEAN angry brow over the eye

Predators that use their mouths as their chief or sole weapons will sometimes target the legs of prey bigger than themselves, even if those legs themselves can serve as weapons. So this was also a viable strategy for extinct predators.
