I got very, very lucky with the lighting and composition of my #fursuit photos at yesterday's #LondonFurs @londonfurs.bsky.social meet! Kasper looked so striking in the low winter sun; and fluffy pink Queenie can't help but pop against rigid grey railings. Thanks indeed to both fursuiters!

Compare and contrast this #DCComics 'Power Girl' cover (1988) with my 24-carat superheroine 'Goldie' (2018) 🧡 Cover drawn by Kerry Gammill & Dick Giordano. I commissioned @coaxdreams.bsky.social to depict Goldie in a similarly powerful pose -- what a shiny, sexy and successful job he did!

Currently I have 34 comics, soon to be 35, in my to-read pile! 😅 Date-wise they range from DC's irreverent Inferior Five #1 (1967) to the Robert Crumb screed Tales of Paranoia, published last November.

August 6th 2025: Eighty years since the atom bomb fell on #Hiroshima #広島 And 1 year since my dear mother was told she had liver cancer which the doctors had failed to spot. A hundred thousand people died because of the bomb. And my mother only lived for a hundred days after her diagnosis. R.I.P.

It's just turned #WerewolfWednesday here, so... I'm currently reading 'Switchblade Shorties', the final comic from the late Ed Piskor. It climaxes with a bloody (and very funny) battle between mischievous little girls and a ravenous #werewolf!

The movie 'My Friend Dahmer', based on the true-life graphic novel by @derfbackderf.bsky.social, is currently showing on Film4 in the UK. Certainly not something I expected to encounter while channel surfing, but I'm not complaining.
