Wednesday September 6, 1854. Bertha howled with laughter when I asked if there were any gang members left that I could talk to. "Course not! They all of 'em swung for it, Octopus!" "All of them?" Bertha sniffed and narrowed her eyes. "Well, I s'pose there's Micky Drake's brother."

Thursday September 7, 1854. I found Micky Drake's brother in a squalid corner of Saffron Hill that reeked of urine and stale boiled cabbage. Though he hadn't taken part in the robbery himself, he'd been privy to some of the details and was anxious to get revenge for his brother.

Friday September 8, 1854. According to his brother, Micky Drake had been approached by a woman who'd outlined the plan for the robbery, which included dispatching the two men tending the shop. Everything ran like clockwork...at least till the police showed up and arrested them all.
