Timothy Dalton (pictured with Maryam d'Abo) made his debut as James Bond in ‘The Living Daylights’ which premiered at Leicester Square on this day on 29 June 1987. For me Dalton, remains my favourite Bond, his second outing in ‘Licence To Kill’ is by far my favourite Bond film too.

Wishing a very Happy Birthday to Lalla Ward who celebrates her birthday today (28th of June). Lalla took over the part of Romana in Doctor Who at the start of the programmes 17th Season.

53 years ago - Elisabeth Sladen at her press call being announced as the new companion Sarah Jane Smith, outside BBC TV Centre on the 26th June 1973. Sladen would make her debut on tv in the opening story of Season 11 : “The Time Warrior”.

60 years ago today (25th June 1966) Anneke Wills and Michael Craze made their debut as Polly and Ben in Episode One of the Doctor Who four part story: “The War Machines”.

Tom Baker, the original 35mm telejector slide from the BBC Presentation Slide Library, this was used throughout most of his tenure to trail the following episode/story. The photo itself was taken on set during the filming of “The Ark in Space”.

RIP William Smithers, who played the unforgettable Jeremy Wendell. He had a relatively short run on Dallas, appearing in 50 episodes over 7 seasons, he had such a lasting impact on the show, being one of the most memorable recurring characters, which was absolutely due to William Smithers portrayal.

37 years ago today - 9th of June 1989, Star Trek V - The Final Frontier is released in cinemas. The film sees William Shatner in the directors chair.

It’s 21 years ago today (8th June 2005) since Ed Bishop passed away. Ed is perhaps best known for his role as Ed Straker in the wonderful Gerry Anderson tv series U.F.O. Steve Hardy and I were lucky enough to interview Ed back in the mid 90’s for a fanzine we were co-editing at the time.

Episode One of “The Daemons” originally aired 55 years ago OTD in 1971. Widely regarded as the jewel in the crown of the Eighth Season, Jon Pertwee and Katy Manning are superb as the Doctor and Jo, Delgado is brilliant as the Master, its arguably UNIT's finest hour and full of classic moments!

Sorry to hear about the death of Michael Keating today at the age of 79. Best known for his role as Villa in Blake’s 7.

Remembering John Nathan-Turner (12 August 1947 – 1 May 2002) on the 24th anniversary of his death. John was the ninth producer of the series and the final producer of the series' (from 1980 until it was cancelled in 1989). He finished the role having become the longest-serving producer.
