Yesterday was the U.S. House Appropriations Committee mark-up of the Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development FY26 spending bill. Though an amendment was offered to restore funding to fair housing, the amendment failed to pass.

The Republican funding bill for the Department of Housing and Urban Development cuts funding for civil rights enforcement by 67%. I offered an amendment to remove these cuts, and protect all Americans from housing discrimination.
