I'm particularly susceptible to the argument in this episode that Scotland's political (and civil, tbqh) society is "intellectually weak". That we were not fucking asked about US piracy against a ship in our waters should be a gift to the SNP, but John Swinney could barely raise a whimper about it.

This was a cool episode that looks honestly at Scotland's future within the world system. There's a really poweful take in here about independence: what's independence if you don't have democracy?

A pretty interesting conversation on this week's podcast, and I think a pretty clear throughline that racism, "skivers vs strivers" and for the queer community, transphobia are all weapons wielded by the ruling class to smash the working class.
