True, but even “Grogu and the Mandalorian” would have been a better title. It has trochaic meters all the way through, it sounds like a fable (e.g., Jason and the Argonauts, Tweeter and the Monkeyman), and it preserves the mystery of the main characters.

This was one of my more surreal fan moments. In the food court, someone comes up to me, says I posed with her for a photo… and her dad made a painting of the moment! I’m astounded.

This a surprisingly intimate look into Kristian Jack’s personality (and if you’re not a fan of the club, don’t worry, they stop talking about the Wanderers after the first five minutes).

If I may ask in sincerity: who’s the target for the #SaveTheCaps campaign? Is it the city, to convince Vancouver to approve a new stadium deal immediately? Or is it a general plea for a new billionaire ownership group? Or is it to convince MLS to drop the Vegas plans?

This weekend in Montreal’s been the first trip I’ve had in years where I was homesick after three days. It’s mostly a problem on my end - I’ve been feeling brutally self-conscious ever since the plane landed. But I’ll have to do this a different way, next time.

Attendance for the Wanderers home opener: 5,888 on Fotmob. Not a bad start!

A quick search was all it took for me to confirm my hunch. Like the chart says, *every* team is more likely to give up a goal in the last ten minutes. It’s something to work on, yes, but it’s by no means the Wanderers’ unique and tragic destiny. We’ll be fine.

What an incredible finish to that ITO-VFC game. Sure, the game was decided, but... Callum Irving, man. He's there for a header on the corner kick, then runs the length of the field to tackle the ball before Ollie Bassett puts it in an open net. He's a league legend.

Maybe @joshrjhealey.bsky.social knows someone who can check the numbers: are the Wanderers really a team that reliably drops points late in the game, or does that happen to every team, and it just gets remembered so strongly by us that it feels like it happened just yesterday?

*sob* Okay... now that I've closed my eyes and counted for ten seconds, my brain tells me we're undefeated and have five points from three games, and we have a new roster that's still learning the system, and we're showing improvement each game. My heart is still aching, though. #HFXWanderers

Something else in defence of Inter Toronto’s rebrand: “York United” was, by far, the more confusing name. And speaking of confusing names: I’m really having a hard time getting used to “PSLC, the Premier Soccer Leagues of Canada”.

I’ll add one more nice thing about ITO, because I’m feeling generous: I think this will be their last rebrand for a while. A rebrand after new ownership is nothing new, and they‘ve been wanting to be “Toronto’s team” since 2019. It all fits.

I should clarify: I don’t want make fun of Inter Toronto *fans* for supporting their team. I want to make fun of the league itself, for their dogged insistence on treating Inter Toronto like it’s the most important club in the CPL.

I was always a bit annoyed that Bobby Smyrniotis got passed over for the CF Montreal job — but in hindsight, he dodged a bullet.

The one piece of information missing from yesterday's Wanderers game was a crucial one for the #CanPL: attendance. Yes, I know I've made fun of York in the past for their crowds, but the day they turn the corner and start bringing in 4,000 fans, I'll be genuinely happy for them and the league.

Back-and-forth goals, just like the best of the York/Wanderers meetings! Also, I’m going to like Inter Toronto better than York United. Mostly because they stopped playing The Venga Boys after goals.

It didn’t go our way, but that FVS check seemed pretty solid. It’s worth looking for a handball, but it’s a good decision to say the shoulder doesn’t merit a PK. And, it’s relatively quick. I’ve got no problem with checks like that.

WE REALLY NEED THAT TURN OFF RETWEETS BUTTON ALREADY.

UPDATE: It was not a dream or a delayed April Fool’s or overturned by FVS, I checked the standings today and the #HalifaxWanderers are *still* 1-0-0! That game on Saturday actually happened!

I know that FVS has been unhelpful in all but one situation so far (and even then, it only counts if you're a Cavalry fan), and its potential for poor usage and abuse is scary. But we're also still waiting for the moment (and it'll come) when the ref misses something huge.

YES! The Wanderers win! As many people have said, stealing a 1-0 victory on the road is something we've rarely done before. There's a lot of work we need to do, but this will be a huge confidence booster for us. Time to see what happens next!
