I expect to be there but I don't make plans until I learn if it's 12/28-31 or some variant or if Fruition play in Seattle on 12/28 and I decide to just go to 3 or something.

I wait until the announcement, no shortage of hotels in NYC and the prices dont change much if you book a year in advance. Only thing I'll do is usually book a train as they use dynamic pricing, the earlier the better. Thanks for the reminder.
