As a faculty/instructor/teacher using social media in the classroom, what role does the university marketing and communications play in your life?

A huge exodus from/change over in UWM admin, and now it feels like admin and legal are really excited about policies. I have seen more new/changed UWM policies in the last 6 months that in 20+ years here. I don't feel like this is a good thing. Thoughts?

It's funny that we are, once again, making decisions for teens, about AI, without listening to them or listening to the social information that they are processing through social media, tik tok, once again. Wait, once again.

There are a lot of nuance being missed in the discussions of the LMS, Canvas, LMS or no, history of the LMS. Or, history of the Content Management Systems of the late 90s. I think we often forget about this from the student experience side of things 25 years ago.

I am well aware that across multiple academic communities I have a reputation as someone who works really hard, perhaps bordering on workaholic. My suggestion to anybody entering academia (or already in): don't become a workaholic if you can help it. It's a job, a lovely job, but a job nonetheless

We had our Undergraduate Research Symposium last week. It was pretty amazing. I was a judge for oral presentation division. Students give me so much hope for the future. They brought me back to academia in 2004. The symposium was just food for my soul.
