Congrats to one of the kindest most hilarious gracious humans walking the earth. Sure he’ll crawl inside your psyche with his gorgeous ghastly prose and haunt your hallucinations. But he’s a swell guy writing poignant satire wrapped in scary bows.

As I wrote about in my NYT Mag cover story last year, conservatives have co-opted the language of civil rights, but the adaptation of fuzzy terms and programs such as diversity, equity and inclusion have made the attacks on civil and BLACK rights easier as they have provided the camouflage.

Trump's freezing of all civil rights cases at the DOJ is not part of an anti-DEI agenda, but an anti-civil rights agenda. DOJ was *founded* to protect Black rights during Reconstruction. That this difference is unclear speaks to the success of conservative propagandists and the failures of liberals.
