The Kimes segment imploring Miami to take a guard at 13 is misguided in so many ways. First off, that would be the highest any coach ever who ran this system took a G, but like 30 draft slots. Second, the best OG is like 25th overall at best. Third, young guards are not what Miami needs.

I thought Big Pat had the same issues at RT in terms of over-setting and getting beat across his face, but I also saw a lot more of the sweet feet with an easy weight transfer, and some flat out dominant run down reps. We got us one in this guy

The emphasis this system has on tackle play and the unique skill set to play it means you HAVE to have a capable swing tackle. Hell, they had five this year prior to injuries. I think Kion Smith can be that guy. But you still probably need one more vet (Paul, Jackson, Smith+vet).

I know we don't want to talk special teams - but Cam Goode was a nice addition to the STs in his return. These may seem insignificant- but if you get a couple guys to play like this - it's what generates the splash returns as coverage guys are no longer getting to their lanes.

1st drive for Bengals vs Browns. Pin & Pull and then later Crack-Toss, both for chunk gains. These are both concepts that Miami has run (with minimal success) earlier in the year - but might be worth revisiting for next week based on how the Browns played them here.

Tyler Huntley as Miami’s official QB2 for the remainder of the season, able to come in and out of the game without restriction? This should be a no brainer.

Outside Zone right. Jaguars walk the safety up to adjust run fits. Frontside run D is solid- But boot action from Stroud puts the edge defender in conflict. He takes 1 step towards the boot and that's all thats needed to get Mixon into the secondary for a 30 yd gain.

Malik return more impressive when you consider 3 players circled didn't block anyone. Design has the other deep man trying to get to the widest gunner- he can't get there & Malik makes him miss. Malik's cut allows Durham to get back in it. Duke could have been called for hold.

Brewer, just like Tua, can sometimes be hard to quantify. We see all the crazy-athlete plays where he’s throwing DBs outside the numbers to Pensacola, but he’s an absolute technician and great decision maker. Bad ass clip. Watch how he reacts when he sees Reddick begging for a flag.

I have the answer to the Jonnu question - the Jets took it away. They also kept the roof on the house. That's why you saw Tyreek and Jaylen catch 19 balls primarily on outs, stick, drags and slants. The Jets dared us to throw it wide and we killed them. Can't wait to see how teams react to that.

More Brewer propaganda. The most athletic center in the league is also one of the most technically refined. Pretty solid combo.

This is why you draft Patrick Paul. It’s why they kept investing in Austin Jackson. Doing this at tackle is imperative in this offense and there’s like maybe 10-15 of these dudes in the league

2nd Jonnu screen. Check out Brewer's block 🔥. This is high level IQ and discipline. Reddick sees it and has a chance at the play. If Brewer puts hands on him, potential for block in the back. Hip check is just as effective and eliminates that possibility.

Short yardage issues? Don't run dumb stuff like this. It's Duo. The numbers don't work. 6 PS defenders and 5 blockers. Someone is coming unblocked. But the line can't win in short yardage 🙄

Why run the ball? Even on a day when it wasn't super productive - you get this. As soon as the CB widens out with motion, it's a simple 1st read on the OLB. The instant he steps forward it's an automatic throw to space to Achane (who makes a nice adjustment)

And for the Paul 'missed block' crowd here - that CB is in a full sprint shadowing Tyreek Hill. Go ahead and find me a clip of any OT latching on to a CB hauling ass across from opposite field. Ill wait.
