If the Reflecting Pool holds 6,750,000 gallons of water [1], and you need a final concentration of 80 ppm H2O2 to shock kill algae [2], how many gallons of 12% H2O2 would you need to add to the pool to kill the algae? I'm a bit rusty on Chem 101 math, but I came up with 4,508 gallons.

My Spectrum internet bill creeped up to $100/mo for 400 mbps, which is ridiculous given there is now a competitor in town. It took embarrassingly long, but I finally called and said why shouldn't I switch? They cut the price in half and doubled the speed, just because I asked. Crazy stuff.

Of all the harm this administration has done to US science, today's proposed changes to the way federal grants are awarded and administered is the most damaging yet. The text of the federal register document is impenetrably tedious by design, so here's an excellent summary of what it says.
