Providing an immigrant's perspective on Western politics
Iranians abroad are a strange species. I get that they're enthusiastic the Ayatollah has been removed, but they're also cheering on the war on their home country that the military-industrial complex is waging and literally want the crown prince to be their king. So utterly stupid.

This represents 1.5 billion people who are still on the bottom rung when it comes to per capita emissions. For India's carbon emissions to decelerate so rapidly means a HUGE future risk is being removed. This is very significant & positive signal for climate change mitigation efforts worldwide.

On the same day as the bombing of the girls' school in Minab that killed over 100 children, the US used a newly-developed missile to bomb another school & sports hall. This missile detonates above the target, shooting out tiny tungsten pellets designed to cause maximum human damage. (free to read)

This is a wonderful video from the same filmmaker who made the viral Zack Polanski intro. This video should change minds, but it will not. The Greens are relying purely on organic reach, when it should be run as an ad and shown to target audiences around the country. A missed opportunity, sadly.

It costs Indians £100 to get a visa just to come by for a holiday. That's around £400 in PPP terms, roughly adjusting for difference in income & cost of living. If the British Museum starts charging for entry, expect the calls to return art to become louder and central to our future relationship.

Nearly 100,000 Brits live and work in India. Whereas nearly a million Indians live and work in Britain. So as a proportion of population, twice as many Brits move to India than vice versa. And yet the narrative is "their country must be terrible, which is why they're moving here".
