I visited the Guildhall Museum in Rochester last weekend, to see the life-size recreation of the prison hulk. It also featured exhibits of straw work & bone work of French prisoners who were imprisoned on the hulks #GenHour

Did you know? In the Victorian era, a group of boys hunting for rabbits in Edinburgh discovered 17 tiny wooden coffins hidden inside a rocky crevice. Each coffin measured only about 3–4 inches long and contained a small carved wooden figure dressed in handmade clothing. #Victorian #history

Had an amazing trip to #Sudbourne & Suffolk Archives last week. Some of my favourite documents were the coroners inquests. I was surprised to see several family members on the jury for my 3x great grandfather’s inquest. Inquests will definitely be a future project! #OnePlaceWednesday

It's random photograph time again! Whitby, St Mary's. Ear trumpets on the pulpit of 1748. They were fixed there in the early C19 for the benefit of the Rector's wife, who was deaf, and were connected to her ears by rubber tubes.
