I found this letter when I was a volunteer archivist at the Labour History archives. A signed letter from William Beveridge in 1914 when he was just a junior minister in the Ministry of labour. Somewhat starstruck!

At an exhibition about John Buchan I saw this touching photo of his mother visiting his brother’s grave. Lieutenant Alastair Ebenezer Buchan died on the 9th April 1917, aged 22, in Arras, France. (Apologies for quality. Taken through a museum glass showcase!)
