Hi #GenHour. I got my mat GF’s birth cert on Tuesday (see below). Question: Would this be an original (because it’s a birth cert) or derivative source (because the entire thing is typed up)? This is the first time I’ve encountered a birth cert that seems to be both an original and derivative record.

Hi #AncestryHour. 2 things: 1. The tiny bit of genealogy research I did this week is look up my mat GF’s elementary school in Detroit on Archive Grid. I got one thing from 1907. The family went there ca. 1912-1921. 😞 Also looked up the hometowns for 2 of my mat. GGPs; got a hand of result. 1/2

The Constitution will not save it, the admin wants it dead, and Republicans in Congress are on permanent vacation. No one is coming to save it unless we show them it matters.

Hi #AncestryHour. The only minor update I have is that I called the State of Michigan Vital Records (ie Civil Registration) office to see what’s up with my order for my mat. GF. They‘re going to get to my order next week or 2 (they’re backed up) & I’ll get it 7-10 days late! I can’t wait!

Re: RT lectures (which I haven’t done yet), 1) Does anybody remember which goes over what‘s “reasonably exhaustive research“ & 2) Does any explain how you know if your research is proven? B/c I’m afraid I’d say X is proven (b/c they’re my family) but an outsider would say it’s not proven. #GenHour

The collection was made by their 2nd daughter, my Great-aunt Frances, likely for their 50th anniversary. The 1st pic is from their 1915 engagement; the 2nd pic is from 1966. #Genealogy

For #GenHour To clarify what I said at the end below, based on a document I have, I suspect that my paternal GF was baptized at Christ Church in Vienna in 1938 for the very reason of trying to escape Vienna.
