Finally saw my first butterflies of the year last week; I thought I was going to have to wait into March! Other flying friends included this unusual Harlequin. The Mahonia was literally buzzing.

The travelling post office train left Penzance every evening and it had a letter slot on the side that allowed you to make the very last post out of Cornwall.... They collected mail and sorted letters. It continued right into the noughties. Just like the ' Night Train ' film of the Thirties.
