I think the biggest difference between Khazan and a Fromsoft game is simple; the dogs. Despite serving the same purpose of being annoying little bastards meant to run interference for the "stronger" enemies, the Khazan dogs are dumb & easy and not infamously the most dangerous thing in the game.
