I started this book yesterday and can’t put it down! It’s so funny, I just laugh out loud and heads turn toward me. It might be the best book I’ve read in a long while. So far my favorite characters were Maude and Charles. I just love this so much!

Puzo has no idea how to write female characters, almost all of them are one dimensional and think and behave like accessories to men. And in general there’s a bit too much misogyny in the book for me to love it. The suspense is there & it’s good but everything else connected to women is so dated

I’m finally reading The Godfather & it’s a good thriller I really enjoy and it helps me understand why mafia/organized crime culture has spread so much worldwide & I see reverberations of it in my own country too. But as much as I’m enjoying it I’m also kind of hating it bc it’s so problematic 😵‍💫
