Trump's America

As a scared but resolute Oregonian, I am calling this out for exactly what it is - an attempt to provoke the excuse for martial law. We shall not be moved.

Trump is launching an authoritarian takeover of Portland hoping to provoke conflict in my hometown. I urge Oregonians to reject Trump’s attempt to incite violence in what we know is a vibrant and peaceful city. I will do everything in my power to protect the people in our state.

On the first day in office, this President pardoned actual violent insurrectionists who stormed our Capitol. Now he’s making up shit in Portland to justify using the military AGAINST the American people. Real POS behavior from this TEMU dictator.

Much like Mr Wilson, I would love to see people building long term housing for the homeless with counselors to help them transition to permanency and get the services they need. Where are the things we really need, Mr President?

When you know that he makes his policies based on things he sees in the idiot box, this becomes a direct line to right wing media. They bear the responsibility of the destruction about to happen in my state. God help us all!

We’re struggling with this in our family. Lots of people with a multitude of conditions, but we have to go to the doc for a prescription to get the shot. On top of that, they don’t even have the new shot at most places in the area. And guess who has COVID ripping through the area right now?

To condemn the poor and homeless is to blaspheme against Christ

You can't teach U.S. history without "divisive" narratives. Slavery wasn't "unifying." The Japanese incarceration wasn't "unifying." The anti-immigrant Operation Wetback (real name) wasn't "unifying." It's history's job to tell the truth, not cover up past racism to pave the way for future racism.

The story of the Mohawk Skywalkers is a part of the story of REAL America. It is not all white, European, male, and “glorious” despite what your history books may have said. There were terrible things alongside the wonderful things. Each of them contributed toward the huge variety in the US today.

And, I would add, boycott the FIFA 2026 games hosted the US. By all means, go to our lovely neighbors Canada and Mexico, but put the blame directly on the US policies and lawmakers where it belongs. Lobby for all the FIFA 2026 games to be moved outside the US.

We can’t lose focus on what matters – right now, Republicans in Texas are trying to gerrymander district lines to unfairly win five seats in next year’s midterm elections. This is a power grab that undermines our democracy.
