6/31 I’m making a drawing a day in August. Each one is from a remembered moment seen or experienced on the day. Sometimes I've worked from a photo or sketch as a prompt but often it’s a sensation or visual quality that provides the starting point.

A sketch from last weekend. Watching a cormorant trying to catch an eel. A reminder that
#DrawingAugust
starts today. You don't have to draw every day & it can just be a quick sketch. Just whatever you can manage. Post with the hashtag

Coffee and sketching on the riverbank. Heard kingfishers but didn't actually see one. Heron gracefully glided by just as I was finishing.

In 2025, if you like an artists work online, share it. I see AI generated art getting thousands of views, while hard-working creatives go unnoticed. Artists don't exist in a vacuum, creative people need the oxygen of support to find their audience. Find what you love, and shout about it. 👍❤️

Hello! I'm Sarah, an illustrator based in Edinburgh. I love a ghost story and like to draw spooky and atmospheric things, often inspired by books, TV and film, and by the Scottish landscape. I sell my work in my Etsy shop - prints, cards, and occasionally merchandise.
