This house is part of a whole street of well loved and preserved 1920\30s houses.They are close to the Thames and are a delight to walk down in any season. Art Deco House, East Twickenham: watercolour and pencil 2022.

This is the view from my garden studio on a very bright early summer morning. Something like today, May 1st and the garden is full with sunlight. There are moments, very early on a summer morning when it seems as if everything is holding its breath. On the quiet streets of suburbia where I live, mature trees stand on the corner junctions shading the houses originally built by the council. Early Summer Morning Isleworth: ink and watercolour

At almost this time last year I was in the coastal town of Audierne in Brittany. This doorway caught my eye. The way the sun fell across it lighting up all the 'agreeable decay' of the paintwork and the stucco and stone. Sunlit Doorway, Audierne Brittany: ink and watercolour on vintage paper.

Last Of The Sun, Quintin Brittany: ink and watercolour on vintage paper. This is a beautiful and rambling house with a large park for a garden. I stayed there last May with friends. The quiet in the evening twilight as the last of the sun clipped the tops of the trees was soul cleansing.
