Yes, the #1 rule in ttrpg is "maximize player fun" but practically the number one rule to doing that is "make character actions matter" and that applies to all styles of ttrpg from story to gamist. Might also be too generic to be useful, but ends up being relevant a lot to my game design.

So we'll try out a WNBA CC take: I loved watching Caitlin Clark in college, but don't in the pros because it seems like she is just always grumpy and upset and not enjoying herself on the court. I don't know why that should matter - she is there to win, but it makes her less fun to me.

I know I came on to bluesky to talk tabletop rpgs but I find that I mostly just follow live WNBA discourse now. Which is mostly blocking and muting. I have blocked way more people than I have actual posts on Bluesky. 🤷
