Governments need to stop treating rifles as less dangerous than handguns. The majority of gun violence, including the recent Bondi Beach shooting, is done with a semiautomatic rifle, and such rifles should be the primary target of gun regulation.

Opposition to oligarchy is not anti American. Quite the opposite. The USA was declared independent by people who did not want to be ruled by a monarchy. So a protest against a king or dictator is the least “anti American” thing possible, in my opinion.

Anyone with a knowledge of history knows that it is effectively impossible to find a nation that doesn’t do horrific crap. Some do it less, others more. But it is not unique to the nations in the more category.

It will always baffle me how easily people will believe that the poor, the sick, the marginalized, and the immigrant are the cause for all their problems, rather than the people in the most powerful positions in their country who refuse to fix problems and exploit them instead.

Deeply disappointed to hear that the Israeli Navy illegally stopped the Global Sumud Flotilla 75 miles off the coast of Gaza. This was a non-violent mission to break the IDF’s horrifying siege and deliver food and medicine to those who need it most.

Recently I learned that shotguns have found a new use in warfare. Once a close range and breaching weapon, now they are being used to shoot down small drones in Ukraine. Makes sense, given they were originally made for hunting birds.
