You're partly right... actually comes from it being an *Italian-legitamate* sequel to ZOMBI, the Dario Argento cut of Romero's DAWN OF THE DEAD. Italian-Legitimate is basically an attitude Italian filmmakers had back then: "we make a sequel to whatever we want, who's gonna sue us".
