We’ve just given a short talk at the #BritishSilentFilmFestival Symposium which was held at the gloriously eccentric Cinema Museum in London. The building was once the workhouse to which #CharlieChaplin was sent and is now a temple to the silver screen.

Our Frame : Two exhibition kicked off with a talk and screening on May 6th. It culminated in the screening of a restored version of Betty Boop in Minnie the Moocher! Wonderful afternoon and sublime cartoon to end with.

We have what appears to be an unproduced script by Danish director, Henning Carlsen (‘A Dream Comes True’). Don’t suppose anyone has heard about this project? Would love to hear from anyone who has a bit more background info on this.

Looking ahead, many resources are entering the Public Domain in 2025, like our sailor friend Popeye, The Sound and the Fury and more. The Internet Archive is ready to provide access to these items for free use and enjoyment. Help us maintain access: https://archive.org/donate/?origin=blsky-eoy2024

This is beautiful, innovative and wildly imaginative. Fleischer Studios also patented the wonderful rotoscope technique (used more recently by Richard Linklater). We’re going to be celebrating Fleischer Studios in 2025, too!

The booklet accompanying our Frame:One exhibition will be out in the new year. Very much looking forward to telling you more about our exhibits!
