Pride month thoughts 🏳️‍⚧️ A lot of 2010s "love yourself as you are and never change your body" body positive movement meant a lot of trans and gender non conforming people my age put off medically addressing dysphoria. Social transition became our only option because medical care was "self hate".

Coming up on 2 months post top surgery. Today I went and got fitted for a suit to wear to my older brothers wedding. This is the first time I have ever tried on clothes in a store without crushing dysphoria ruining my whole week.

Very unfortunate and annoying side effect of being public about my transition over the past decade, specifically because a lot of people in my life won't ever hear about transness directly from a trans person otherwise, is that to most people my entire identity is simply "trans" and nothing else 🙃

It's my besties 31st birthday. I love growing old with my friends more than anything in the whole world. I love being queer and trans and seeing my queer and trans friends get older. I love seeing us make it. Birthdays are really special to me these days, celebration of trans life and love.

Shits fucked so I guess I'm gonna be at my computer playing Minecraft for the foreseeable future because spending way too many real life hours building a pretend digital lego glasshouse bakery is way better than *gestures vaguely* whatever the fuck this is

Me and my bro recreating a sculpture our sister made decades ago of us standing back to back. He and mum came for a week to help me with basic tasks and keep me company during my top surgery recovery and he decided to stay a few more weeks. My lil bro is one of my favourite ppl in the whole world.

Day 18 of top surgery recovery and I am constantly discovering exciting and emotional things about my body. Kel got me this shirt over a decade ago. I can count on one hand how many times I've worn it because I remember every time I've needed to take it off due to crushing dysphoria and depression.

A day before #TransDayofVisibility I finally got top surgery after years of planning and saving. My dysphoria was getting too dangerous for my health, but that aside I also needed to be less visible for my own safety, to protect myself and my loved ones. Visibility without protection is a threat.

I guess my brain really needed a tile matching puzzle game because I've been playing Dorframntik on my switch for 2 days straight and have zero plans to stop

tbh the post op compression binder is the worst part of surgery recovery so far psychically AND emotionally. they're like the binders I wore when I came out before realising binding my chest caused me way more dysphoria not less bc the physical discomfort made me constantly think about my breasts

Did not realise "healed enough to give and receive gentle hugs" would be a huge achievement during top surgery recovery but I was able to properly hug my sister yesterday and nearly burst into tears.

I got to see my chest for the first time today. Happiest cry I've ever had. Not enough words in the universe to express this joy I now carry in the very centre of my soul, the utter full body feeling of relief. 1 week post op as of yesterday. Finally home today to fully rest and recover.

4 days post op. I can kinda move my arms a little bit now which is nice and went for a decent walk around South Bank with boyfriend and got some market treats. Drains come out on Tuesday and then we can finally go home!

Looked in the mirror after surgery and cried with the most intense joy and euphoria I've ever felt. Using a jean bag my grandmother made when I was 5 to carry my drains. Felt important to wear this shirt today getting surgery in QLD, in support of folks arrested following the freedom phrases ban.

My surgery was delayed. It hit me really hard emotionally even though it has only been delayed not cancelled. Monday is set in stone. I'm just so fucking exhausted. As my mum said, all the waiting is pretty hard in the nervous system, so I've been abstract arting about it which is helping a lot.

Just went shopping for post op recovery supplies. Soft wash cloths, dry shampoo, shower and sleep caps, extra bedsheet sets, vitamin E moisturizers and oils, soft hankies and reusable make-up wipes. It's feeling so real now :)

Sometimes ADHD doesn't look like someone bouncing off the walls with energy, sometimes it looks like dealing with debilitating chronic fatigue and burn out cycles for your entire adolescent and adult life not knowing what the fuck is wrong with you and why you can't do basic things like the laundry

Let's make a bowl out of scrap fabric! Step one, cut a scrap piece of fabric into a circle. This fabric will end up being completely hidden and just serves as a base to stitch on. I use a bowl or cup to figure out how big I want it.
