Macronychus quadrituberculatus, which we've fondly nicknamed the Riverwood Riffle Beetle, has been recorded in Staffordshire for the first time in over 150 years. This is a rare species in Europe. It is a flagship indicator species for healthy lowland river reaches. @coleopsoc.bsky.social
