Pyramid Head represents James sunderland's repressed toxic masculinity; through this lens a large and muscular woman cast as Pyramid Head could be interpreted as a representation of internalized misogyny, placing the feminine as a powerful destructive force antagonistic to the rationale of men. 💙

Hays Code was self enforced! So was Comics Code Authority! These weren’t laws and look what still lasted DECADES and destroyed careers/freedom of expression. US comics industry never recovered from it bc comics aimed at adults still aren’t a thing, that’s why manga filled the market gap.

I see a lot of people very vocal about censorship on here, but the majority seem to have censored themselves already. If your art doesn't convey emotions or ideas, it's just objectification. I wish the primary motivation was sincere expression, not that it hurts people's ability to make money.
