Artemis II mission returning to Earth from the Moon on April 8th, as dawn was starting here. Integrity was 338,000 km away at the start, and nearly 1,000 km closer at the end 23 minutes later

OK, looks like 3I/ATLAS is a comet! If it were an asteroid the image would be symmetric circles. The distortion is likely due to ices sublimating to form a gaseous tail.

About 50,000 years ago a 50 meter wide object burned a path through the Earths atmosphere, exploded just before impact and blasted a 1.2 km wide (3/4 mile) crater. I tried to include likely contemporary animals and plants. Airbrush and hand brush acrylics on gessoed stretched canvas.
