I agree. Interesting premise and reflection on grief. The mixed tone diluting the focus is what kept it from being stronger. It didn’t need the brief zombie violence scenes. Definitely a “I don’t know where this fits so let’s release it in January” 🤷🏾‍♂️ film.

Been rewatching some horror releases of this year to really narrow down my top 10 and I still adored Presence on second watch. STILL CRYING. I love Chris Sullivan as the family patriach, the score is excellent and moving, and THE twist is heartbreaking. 4/5 for me. #horrormovie #horrorsky #filmsky

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery (2025) is another perfect entry in the Knives Out series. An impossible murder gives way to an angry meditation on the purpose of the church, and how its lost its way in our trying times. Hilarious, heartbreaking and socially relevant. I love this movie. 👍
