Emilia Perez winning awards is nuts, but I have to respect the fact that it's *obviously* nuts. *Brazenly* nuts. It's not a film that you can come out of and say, "that was good". It's insane and visibly, palpably awful, so giving it awards is sort of delightfully mad.

BBC Two is showing High Society Having recently seen The Philadelphia Story, it's quite odd seeing a remake, and I think it does reflect the fact that remaking old films is a fool's errand - it cuts out the best jokes! - but, if you MUST remake something, putting in Louis Armstrong is a good idea.

To me, these colourised bastardisations of Classic Doctor Who are almost as offensive as the Disney remakes Their existence asserts the inferiority of the medium for which they were created, and yet they have the audacity to be so shit
