I love when sci-fi and fantasy intermingle as genres. I love settings in which fantasy or sci-fi backdrop characters get forcibly introduced to one another. Love shit like star ocean or FF1's sky castle or outlaw star. Only get annoyed when it's an excuse to be kinda reddit atheist about magic.

By which I mean (and this is both a fanfic trope but also one I've seen show up in some manga n' etc I can't remember the names of) having the clash of magic/tech be resolved with "magic is just unorganized technology, and these primitives are easily overcome once we advance magic with SCIENCE" shit
