There's a plot point I knew I would have to figure out in my WIP, but I haven't been too worried because it's near the end of the book. I reached that point today and was like OH NO. The time is nigh. 1/2

Even more insidious, sometimes these scam emails claim to come from non-famous authors like me. And that makes them more believable! Helpful tip: authors almost never reach out unless we’re forced to.

Authors, Beware! There's a firm called "ClaimsHero" doing aggressive social media outreach claiming to "help" you file to get $ in the Anthropic class action. In fact, it's a bait-and-switch, they are luring authors to sign up with them, then OPTING THEM OUT of the class action so they'll get zilch.

Please be aware of HOW MANY scams are out there right now. You can tell AI “create a book promotion website for me in English” & it’s done. I got a chilling email last week, asking if I’d used “The Author’s Edge” services. The site used me as a reference with a fraudulent VHStone gmail address.

There are so many scams using author names right now. If you think you're communicating with an author via email, messaging, etc and it involves money in ANY way (a job, a course, etc), it's probably a scam. Reach out via the author's official website, official instagram, etc and double check.
