Good morning, all 👋🏼 It's Sick Stuff Saturday, and YES we have some SICK new arrivals on the shelves today. First up: this is the first time we've ever received any of the Andrew Lang fairy books! We also got this amazing little book on African folklore + MANY more fairy & folktale titles.

Bookshop.org is down & not available for shopping right now. CF rolled out the first part of the fix from their London servers about half an hour ago but it'll take hours for everything to come back up. CF is having a frantic day, but the rest of us* can sit back & wait for the fixes

~inside bookselling secrets, woooooooo~ When I'm adding books to our catalog, I usually grab descriptions from Amazon. It has faster navigation than Ingram, the book distributor from which Amazon pulls that info. I can't do that tonight, because Amazon's search feature is BORKED 😂 BWAHAHA

Seconded. This is nationwide. The librarians I know all say it'll take libraries much longer than usual to get new books. Please be patient with them while they sort out how they'll acquire titles moving forward. It won't hurt to get on waiting lists now for books you know you'll want to read.

Used bookselling is WILD. Some days you get a donation with 100% great titles. Other days, you get a massive donation where the first box you pull is full of titles that melt your brain. all of this Bill O'Reilly crap is going straight to recycling lmaooo

Ruby is only allowed out of her crate when we're closed. She's chill enough in the crate, but DOES NOT LIKE. When I have to crate her, she'll take a minute to show her disapproval by shoving her toys, food, & litter out of the crate. Then she yells for me to come & clean it. SHENANIGANS, I say
