Okay so just opened a poem doc from almost 5 years ago and was reading it just to find a mysterious revision of the poem below it which I *vaugely* remembering writing and am very impressed by. Im revising a little but not much. Like okay past me, go off about teeth.

Creating a quick and easy powerpoint to go along with a mini-comics class Im doing for retirees tomorrow and Im very nervous but also INCREDIBLY excited. I really hope that I can get these adults to play like kids lol

I know theres so much worse going on in the world but having all my bookmarks suddenly dissappear from firefox and being unable to recover them sure makes me more miserable than I thought it would.

Absolutely wild to see a post about being fired for calling fa*cism what it is hosted on a site that publicly said they love white s*premacy and fa*cism while spreading it, so people read it, on this site, one that seems to fight tooth and nail to show that it loves gen*cide and fa*cism. I'm lost.

As I hit my mid to late 20s, i started realizing that if I just have a uniform like cartoon characters, not only did I feel better but I thrived far more. I also decided that I dont wear ties or suits which has pissed off more people than I ever thought cared. Clothes choices be wild.

Okay, I'm going to try writing while my child plays D&D. Trying to do this thing of more explicitly planning time to write and putting my butt in a chair or in the air. I sometimes write with my butt in the air.

Not gonna lie, Im loving Printers Row. So many books and book lovers just living and celebrating. I love it so so much.

I have this image in my head amd im trying to grapple it into language or hold it until it becomes lines and it continues to distort every time i take it from image to word. What a joy to be a human writing, struggling, existing. Poetry is so wonderful.

I really like my students this semester. They roll their eyes while laughing at my terrible jokes. Perfect balance. No notes. And they all seem pretty bright so far. Ive won this fall.

I don't know. I'm just tired and don't want to do dishes. I want to be at Printer's Row Lit Fest already.

Still getting used to my new schedule and honestly I think Im gonna really have to use a calendar more? Like i do for my kid but now Ill need another thats like, "remember to email this person and also eat a snack when blood sugar low"

Okay, so I don't want to jinx this too much but I wrote a good draft of a poem and maybe I'm still a poet? Maybe I can still write poems? Imma let this one stew a bit but damn that felt good.

I love this video. When I talk to my Intro to Comics students, I have a similar approach. Often I ask questions about what they read already and go from there. The amount of students who are like, "Hold up. There's NONFICTION comics?" is wild and heartwarming and lovely. Always read more comics.

I don't have time for this right now, but I'd really love a slow walk through of how to use all of Ghost. Like, I'm figuring it out slowly and have the real basic basics down but I would love to learn more. I just need that slow slow guidance. I really want to grow widely-read.ghost.io much more.

My kid needed to be picked up today instead of riding the bus, which made me end a revision of a poem before I thought it needed to end. I just reread it and, um, maybe my kid did me a big ass favor? The end is pretty solid and I don't remember what else I wanted to write. So, big win.

I feel like this so much. Been in a massive rejection slump, just absolutely drowning in rejection. And this is so helpful to hear. Deep breath. I absolutely loved reading this.
