I'm starting work on illustrations for a novel of mine which is going to be published on Substack, serialized by chapter, where I'm hoping to grow an audience. 🙂

I have an old paperback of THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS that I'm going to begin to reread tonight. (Mimicking Anthony Hopkins's slurping sound effect in the mirror is great fun.)

It's fun practicing making lines with my new Ames lettering guide. It's a handy drafting tool I can use to ensure even spacing. 🙂

Stan Lee's novel, A TRICK OF LIGHT, is pretty good. It gave me flashbacks of my computer-science days in college, and you don't need to be a Marvel fan to read it.

Loving my new studio lamp. I got the floor model because I didn't think clamping one to a glass tabletop was a good idea. And I can't wait to start some new doodles for my poems soon!

I had an awesome afternoon yesterday setting up my new glass drafting table. It's going to look quite snazzy next to my writing desk. I'm going to have them connected in an L shape so I can just swivel in my seat! WEE!!

Yesterday I finished a major rewrite of my latest sci-fi novella. Next on the list is to rewrite my comic-book script into a short story. I'll keep the initial draft just in case I ever get the means for it down the road.

Beginning work on some rewrites of my latest sci-fi novella. When I'm done, I'm going to go over my comic-book script. I've been brainstorming using Patreon as a publishing option. I could even publish my own comic book on there!

It looks like I'm going to convert this comic-book script into a short story because the publishing options are a bit sketchy to me.

Terrible to hear. I'm an ex-smoker of twenty years and started when I was in the army. Quitting was one of the hardest things I've ever done but rewarding in a lot of ways. Stay healthy, maestro.

Working on a list of seven comic books to subscribe to at my local store; and I'll be able to save 15% there as a member, which seems like a great deal to me! I HATE FAIRYLAND and the new D'ORC series are at the top of my list so far.

Canada is a proud, bilingual nation. Our history and culture is shaped by the French language and the millions of Canadians who speak it every day. La Francophonie is a pillar of our national identity — one to be protected and celebrated across Canada.

Giant Tiger should show a little more respect to the authors of the novels they sell. They deface the front covers with barcode stickers that end up damaging upon removal, and dot the outside of the pages with permanent marker. Goodness gracious me!

Determined to finish, I had a three-hour editing marathon with no breaks. My new sci-fi manuscript is ready for my two beta readers! I also finally created a Submittable account with help from some people at THE FIDDLEHEAD--thank you! Now it's time to bite the head off a chocolate bunny. 🐰

I picked up eight new comic books yesterday to restore my creative vein. The first two issues of CRUEL KINGDOM look really interesting. Once I’m done editing this new manuscript, I’m looking forward to starting my Submittable adventure. I gotta take the paths that are given to me.

WTF Grammarly. This is a new, despicable low in a world where "AI" constantly disgusts... Loathsome. NONE OF THESE AUTHORS GAVE THEIR PERMISSION I hope Stephen King, NDT, and the estates of the dead authors they're using/exploiting sue the shit out of them
