Considering most of what I do here is yap about games I'm debating setting up a blogger or something to post some full-length reviews. Always feel like I want to be more verbose when I talk about a game and it feels awkward splitting my commentary over 2-3 posts even if I say little in them.

I'm starting to get genuinely confused by how many people are using LLM's for random shit like it's google, or summarising documents and whatnot. Even if I put aside my dislike for generative AI in concept alone, it's bewildering to me - it's wrong so often and can get you into serious trouble.

Started playing Avowed. The discussion around this game has been quite confusing to me, I've seen so much high praise and a fair bit of people utterly slamming it - while that's probably just internet algorithms doing they're thing I have to say: It's okay. Like, that's it. It's fine. 6.5/10.

Picked up Flowers for Algernon to read for my book club, thumbed through it at lunch today and then proceeded to read essentially the entire thing at home. Good god this book is fucking GRIPPING. I consider myself somewhat stoic, yet I'm currently ugly crying and struggling on the last 20 pages.

Y'know I kinda want a game that's like Death Stranding, with ladders, rope climbing and stuff but it's like medieval fantasy. that way you don't get any fuck-ass vehicles and the enemy is just the environment and some wolves or gobbos or something. Maybe a dragon fucks up your routes for shiggles

Finished Grey Bees - t'was an okay book. Nothing about it particularly "hooked" me, but the characters were interesting and the bits of history, culture and bleak dips into how wars affect people were interesting enough and once the book picks up a bit towards the halfway point the pacing is decent.

Huh. IDK how I missed it but the Dev for citizen sleeper is just one person. I am baffled as to how they put out such quality work on their own. The gameplay loop for the games is so fine-tuned and it's deceptively simple considering how the abilities let you fuck with the dice.

I played through Citizen Sleeper 2 in one sitting on a day off recently but it's hitting me that this game is like Outer Wilds in that the first playthrough is this really beautiful, poignant and fun experience and trying to recapture that hurts because you can never experience it properly again.

I'm about halfway through Grey Bees. It's an interesting book, not really sure if I *like* it or not though... It's a little slow, not too much happening, although you get these compelling little glimpses into to the horrors of the war unfolding around Sergeyich on occasion that keep me reading.

My path of exile character is so fucking edgy and it's great. Then you rotate them, and find out that they're also serving cunt, which is honestly even better.

Decided to give up on A Gentleman From Moscow, very much so not for me. I can kinda see why someone would like it if all they care about is prose, but good god it's dull and just has nothing of substance to offer in the 1st 1/4 and I can't be bothered to see if it ever gets better.

So, I'm super addicted to Path of Exile 2 at the moment, but I've not actually got that much play time because I've spent like 3x my in-game time out of the game just planning builds. I uh...I might have a problem.

Had a change of plan book-wise, and started #reading A Gentleman in Moscow as it's the first book for a book club that I've been invited to recently. It's...a painful read so far. Granted, I'm only 50 pages in so I can't really judge it too harshly.

I've been playing a bit of a cool indie game called Rooftops & Alleys recently, scratches that parkour itch that I've had ever since mirrors edge. There aren't really many games that do more 'grounded' feeling parkour over the incredibly fast and floaty style you get in movement shooters.

Finished #reading Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? I liked A Roadside Picnic a fair bit more than this book, although both were very good - felt like the ideas that were brought up by Do Androids Dream of Electric sheep were a bit less interesting, though the plot was a bit better.

Also currently reading "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" Next on the list is House of Leaves after that, so I might also ramble about those books once I've finished them so I can unload my jumbled thoughts on them.

Trying to get back into reading lately, and finally got around to reading 'A Roadside Picnic' by the Strugatskys. It puts across some interesting points like whether humans are insignificant in the grand scheme of the universe and the idea that if aliens visited us would they even care we're here.
