Fun fact of the day: For 550 years, graduates from the University of Oxford had to swear an oath to "never be reconciled with Henry Symeonis." By the time the oath was abolished in 1827, no one remembered who Henry Symeonis was or what he'd done.

Bonus: Later archival discoveries found that Symeonis was a wealthy townsman in Oxford who was found guilty of murdering a scholar at the university. He was fined and exiled from the city by King Henry the 3rd. While the king eventually forgave him, the university didn't.
